Background Alaskan Velvet was the second painting I completed upon my return from Alaska. It began as a realistic landscape of a glacier view from the cruise ship’s deck. Experimenting with layers and the background of a painting, I painted over the mountainous landscape and Alaskan Velvet was the end result. From behind, traces of the painting underneath Alaskan Velvet can be seen. |
